Gay Weddings (Civil Partnership Ceremonies) at Fibre

Fibre is now licensed to conduct gay weddings (or their official term, Civil Partnership ceremonies) and we are able to pull out all the stops to give you and your partner a great day. If you fancy a simple or lavish ceremony or reception or both, we can meet all your demands. At Fibre we have extensive hospitality experience, multiple contacts and are able to plan your whole day with every detail you could ever imagine covered.

The following gives you some idea of what we can offer but there is nothing we will not attempt to pull off or organise. Our aim is make it a day you both will never forget.

Our venue is ideally suited and can be transformed to your tastes. Split over three floors we are able to designate each area for each part of the day's events. Ideally, but not written in stone, the official ceremony would be held on the downstairs floor. This area would be arranged to your choosing but at no time would it look like a bar. All sign of alcohol service would be removed, leaving at its most basic level a white blank canvas.

The upstairs bar would be used to entertain guests before and after the ceremony with the private flat on the top floor reserved for only family members and the Registrar. However we are flexible and can change the room layout to suit your needs and wishes.


Here are a few ideas to help plan your wedding...

Contact the local registrar to book a date and time for your wedding. Your registrar will go through all the details of the service and help tailor the day to your requirements. We can supply you with all the contact details and inform you of the procedures at Fibre.

Venue layout:
The layout of your wedding totally depends on your numbers and requirements. We have seating at Fibre for 30 but if you require extra seating this can be arranged.

Flowers and ornaments:
For all your floral decorations we recommend Fiori who are located next door to Fibre and can provide everything from classic arrangements to the highly original. Other features could vary from throne style chairs for you and your partner or statues. You may look at additional mood lighting and candles.

Music:
There are many options all of which are personal to you but we can meet all your requirements. Here are a few examples:
- Have your guests sing along to your all time favourite tune
- Live music with a choir or classical music
- Background music

Service order cards:
To ensure your guests know the order of the ceremony plus have a memento of your special day, service cards can be designed to your requirements. If you let us know all the details we can obtain all quotes and proofs for you.

Food and beverages / Pre-ceremony drinks reception:

Entertain your guests with the following options:
- Open bar (free bar for all your guests)
- Champagne/Bucks Fizz reception (see our champagne options and choose a stylish start to your day)
- Coffee and soft drink option (have the bar open for business with just soft drinks available for free)
- Fibre Breakfast (strong coffee and a selection of continental style breakfast items or bacon butties - a perfect start to the day if the stag party went on too long!)

NOTE: Smoking or drinking alcohol is forbidden in the ceremonial area. If guests are found to be smoking or drinking alcohol the Registrar may halt the wedding ceremony.

All of our pre-ceremony hospitality is carried out in the upstairs bar. The downstairs area is set up for your ceremony.

Post ceremony:
A champagne and canapé reception is available (as you return from the ceremony downstairs, our staff will be waiting for your arrival with champagne for you and your guests). Examples of what we can supply can be found in the Food & Beverages section.

Canapés and buffet:
All canapés are served to your guests by our staff. The buffet is free standing for your guests to help themselves. For menu information, please see the Food & Beverages section.

Accommodation:
We have a special agreement with various hotels that are able to supply specially discounted rooms for you and your guests. Our hotel options range from Groom Rooms or Bridal Suites to suites and standard rooms for your guests.

Photography:
We can arrange for an excellent professional photographer to produce a portfolio of your day to keep those memories forever. There is also the opportunity to have a professional DVD made of the whole ceremony from start to finish. They provide everything from sets to make up!

Arrive in style:
To bring you to our red carpet in comfort and style we have numerous options. It's your day so what will it be? A red Ferrari, a McLaren SLR, horse drawn carriage (think Princess Di), a vintage classic white Bentley or a monster truck? We can arrange it.

- Yesteryear Cars they supply the bizarre. A 1950s pink Cadillac driven by Elvis...a 1920s Dodge driven by gangsters chased by a police car. A vintage bus for all your guests to travel in.....


Security:
During your day to ensure complete peace of mind for you and your guests we can arrange personal security. This will ensure that your day passes off without intrusion.

Hosts:
To ensure all your guests are flamboyantly greeted at Fibre we recommend you use a door host. The door host will also ensure that only your guests enter your party and are guided in the correct direction. A host would be available for either the ceremony and/or the reception.

The Reception:
The reception and the ceremony we can keep as separate events, as you may wish for a gap between the two and invite other people to the reception. The reception could be held at any of our other venues or at Fibre, it is your choice. However please note that at weekends we are limited to which venue would be available. There are multiple options and we could organise trips to our club nights or a very private knees up in one of our VIP venues.

Wedding Cakes:
We recommend local wedding cake makers, Simply Cakes who are based in Chapel Allerton. They can offer everything from the traditional classic wedding cake, to your own design.

Invites and displays:
Invites to your wedding and reception can be the centre piece on your friends' and families' mantelpieces for weeks leading up to your big day. Our design team can either work to your specification or create something unique.

Availability of the venue
As Fibre is very busy on most days it is important to book in a wedding at a suitable date and times for all parties. We have to look after the concerns of our regular customers and protect our regular business. Due to this ideally a wedding should be booked in during the day. We can hire the venue on any day if by 4pm the downstairs bar is vacant for use, especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However the upstairs VIP bar is extensively available, even on weekend nights if the figures are correct.

On the hire of various extras (e.g. car hire, hotel bookings etc) we will either require a deposit or the full amount up front to satisfy each contractor. However to relieve the stress we can manage all that for you.
